In early 2025, I discovered that Google was not indexing images from my original galleries because they apparently had stopped collecting image info boxed in by NOSCRIPT tags. To solve that problem I settled on the PRO Expert FooGallery plugin for WordPress. To improve things further I also installed the free versions of Yoast SEO and WP Fastest Cache plugins. So far, I’ve been pleased, but I am an amateur at this, so this isn’t exactly a high level endorsement. In fact, the only reason I added links to them was because Yoast scolds you if you don’t include external links in your content. By the way, Bing’s URL inspection dinged me for not having a description meta for my pages and Wordress doesn’t offer an easy way to add that, whereas Yoast does. Yoast also does a cool job of automatically creating and updating individual sitemaps for images, posts, pages, etc and pinging search engines when they’re updated.
The Commercial Work and Huntsville Alabama galleries appear in both the “Old Galleries” and “New Galleries”. The one thing I like most about the FooGallery Lightbox is how it maximizes the size of the main image.
